The England and Wales Cricket Board | Every Ball Counts

The ECB didn’t ask us to launch a new cricket competition; it asked us to secure the future of the game by winning over people who’d already decided cricket wasn’t for them. We reframed the challenge: compete as entertainment, not sport. Every. Ball. Counts. became the organising idea behind six years of audience-led brand building, evolving from proving the format, to building team fandom, to embedding The Hundred in British summer culture.

Results

  • 0% to 52% brand awareness in five years.
  • 2.5 million spectators, a world-record 1.5 million attendees for the women’s competition.
  • A £975 million valuation that investors directly attributed to the audience the brand had built.
